LASIK Laser Vision Correction

LASIK laser vision correction is a vision correction method that has been available for over 30 years. It works by using a laser to reshape the cornea, altering its curvature to achieve vision correction. LASIK is suitable for patients of various age groups and can correct myopia up to 1,400 degrees, hyperopia, and astigmatism up to 600 degrees.

  1. What are the Differences Between SMILE/SMILE®pro and LASIK Laser Vision Correction?
Both SMILE/SMILE®pro and LASIK laser vision correction reshape the cornea using lasers to change its curvature and correct vision. LASIK involves first creating a corneal flap by cutting the cornea with a laser, then reshaping the middle layer of the cornea. In contrast, SMILE/SMILE®pro directly cuts the middle layer of the cornea with a laser and removes it. Since SMILE/SMILE®pro eliminates the step of creating a corneal flap, the wound area is reduced by 80%, resulting in better wound healing and faster recovery.
